Relationship with Parents
Relationship issues can arise in various contexts. However, the dynamics at home have the most signficant impact. My coaching techniques teach you how to communicate effectively with your teen. The key is not just what you say to your teen, but how you say it.
Your role as a parent is not to be a friend, but to provide guidance and structure. Cultivating a positive, open, and non-judgmental relationship will pay dividends down the road, fostering a healthy dynamic with clear boundaries and rules. Low Self Esteem
Self-esteem is a learned skill that reflects one's sense of worth and value. It is not innate – we are not born with it pre-programmed. Rather, our self-esteem is shaped by the messages we receive from others, which we then internalize.
Ultimately, I believe that self-esteem is a major factor in personal success and how your teen will navigate life. Together, we can build or rebuild your teen’s self-esteem. This involves recognizing their strengths, setting realistic goals, practicing self-compassion, and challenging negative self-talk. Strong self-esteem plays a pivotal role in their future relationships and how they allow others to treat them.
Abundance of Stress
Stress is the physiological and psychological response to challenging or demanding situations. Effectively managing stress involves several key steps: identifying personal stressors, developing healthy coping mechanisms, and incorporating relaxation practices like exercise, meditation, and hobbies. It may take time to discover what works best.
I implement role-playing techniques for potential stressful scenarios. This can help prepare teens to handle future challenges more effectively. While reflecting on past stressful experiences, we can build a customized "toolbox" of tips and tricks to better equip your teen moving forward.
Suicidal Ideation
Suicidal thoughts can be a serious matter and should not be ignored. If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal ideation, it's critical to seek professional help right away. Treatment options may include therapy, medication, developing a safety plan, and receiving support from family and friends. If you or a loved one is in immediate danger, do not hesitate to call 911 for emergency assistance.
